Wrekin Voices Update 26 April 2024

Welcome to our latest update. We have some great new ways to get involved, including opportunities to have a closer look at our services through scrutiny.

For even more information and ways to feedback take a look at our website pages or join our Wrekin Voices Facebook group. You can join here.

Ways to get involved

Help us improve our services through scrutiny

We're on the lookout for customers to join us in scrutinising our services. Your input is important to us so, we'd love you to analyse data and information on specific topics. Then, share your ideas with us to help make our services even better! We're keen to hear what topics interest you the most. If you're up for getting involved, just fill out a quick form to let us know.

For each topic, we'll host some short information sessions, and a follow-up session, both online and in person. Let's make a difference together!

Get Involved with Scrutiny

Share your story

Would you like to share a positive experience of our services or let people know how you share your views or volunteer? We're looking to showcase:

  • Happy customers
  • Positive repairs experiences
  • How you share your views from taking surveys to involved groups
  • Customers who are active in their community

This may be as a short case study, video or a couple of lines as a quote. If you would love to be featured, please email getinvolved@wrekin.com

Working together

Youth Group Update

Michele and Gemma have been visiting local youth groups to ask young people how they feel about the areas where they live. In Dawley and Woodside, they shared their views on what makes them feel safe or unsafe and how local areas could be improved. We will be gathering all of their views together from each of the groups and working with other partners to look at their ideas for local improvements.

St Georges Walkabout

We visited Freeston Avenue with the area team and our litter pickers. The team had highlighted the park as being a place where young people often gather causing some nuisance for residents. We identified options for partnership working to provide activities in the local area and have planned to revisit the area during the school holidays.

Events for your calendar

If you would like a walkabout near you or know of community events in your area, we would love to hear from you. In addition, our Housing Teams are now operating out of the Stirchley and Wellington Hubs a couple of days a week.
