Wrekin Voices Update 20 December 2024

Welcome to our last Wrekin Voices update for 2024.

Thank you to Wrekin Voices!

A huge THANK YOU for getting involved this year! For sharing your views, joining our workshops and panels, and taking the time to complete surveys and say hi to us at events! It's been a busy year. Here are a few of the highlights:

  • 126 feedback events where we met with over 1,500 voices
  • 41 voices joined us for walkabouts where you live
  • Over 100 voices took part in policy reviews and impact assessments, reviewing 11 policies
  • Over 5'500 voices took part in our engagement surveys and fed back on the merger, essential services and stigma.

We would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy 2025!

If you would like to share ideas and catch up with other Wrekin Voices, we have a Wrekin Voices Facebook group. You can join here.

Working together

Something new is happening

We are approaching an exciting milestone as we prepare for the formal approval of our merger with Housing Plus Group. The formal merger will be completed on January 6th 2025, at which time The Wrekin Housing Group will become part of the new Housing Plus Group. By combining our strengths, we can do more for our customers. You can read more about this here.

Involved customer meet up

Last Friday saw the first meeting of customers from both Wrekin and Housing Plus Group. Wayne Gethings Designate Chief Executive for the New Housing Plus Group led the discussions and described how customer engagement will be critical in designing the new organisation. The event was very positive with both customer groups generating lots of ideas and looking forward to working together in the New Year.

Park Lane Christmas fair

Gemma and Dave had the pleasure of attending the Park Lane Christmas fair. The event saw loads of people enjoying the various stalls, crafts and food. They spoke with customers and provided advice. It also proved to be an opportunity to meet local organisations and plan working together in the future.

Ways to get involved - Stigma survey

Social housing stigma survey

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share your views in our stigma survey. There is plenty of time to take part in the survey as it will remain open over the festive period and into the new year. Check back in your emails or texts for the link. Your experiences will help us shape our future services.
